GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: You will be responsible for the building of LINUX servers and the necessary components (hardware/software) to achieve project goals. You'll work closely with project management, technical services and support group, external vendor partners, and the client to ensure a smooth implementation and transition of the servers and related products. This candidate will also be responsible for the documentation and staff training on their aspect of the project.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build, install, configure, troubleshoot and support:
Apache HTTPD, including URL rewrites/redirection; forward/reverse proxy configuration; authentication, access controls and logging; virtual host configuration; SSL configuration; LDAP authentication
Java JDK, including JVM tuning and profiling and use of keytool command for keystore management
Apache Tomcat, including proper configuration and application deployment setup
OpenSSL, including use of basic commands such as x509, s_client, and req to manage, examine, and troubleshoot SSL certificates
Linux RPM package development and support to maintain several customized builds of open source packages
Serve as subject matter expert for the following areas: Linux, Apache, Java, OpenSSL, Shell scripting, SSL certificates, cryptographic algorithms and ciphers
Ability to work closely with the project team to gather and interpret requirements for the Linux Operating System and Software. Then build servers based on these designs.
Proficient with installation of Red Hat Linux.
Strong knowledge in the implementation of “High Availability” (HA) concepts and ability to implement the various vendors’ software/solutions in this environment.
Capable of debugging implementation issues.
Capable of writing in various administrative scripting languages.
Education or Equivalent: BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience / training towards technical certifications.
Qualifications / Skills Requirements:
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Experience working with products on a variety of Open Systems
Experience as an Engineer providing support for large projects from requirements through implementation
Able to analyze, develop, and enhance engineering workflow processes.
Excellent analytical abilities, resulting in problem resolution
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with networking technologies
Strong oral and written communication skills
